Confiscation order for £650,000 VAT fraud woman Ella Thom

An Aberdeenshire farmer jailed for a VAT fraud of more than £650,000 has been made subject to a confiscation order for £20,000.
Ella Thom, 50, from Banchory, submitted fraudulent VAT repayment claims for more than six years.
She was jailed for two years and three months in December.
The confiscation order was made at Aberdeen Sheriff Court, and the Crown can seek more if further assets come to light.
The case related to the costs of machinery, fertiliser, and business charges.
