A 43-year-old man who died in a crash on the A90 in Aberdeenshire has been named.

David Tolmie - known as Flea - lived in the Cove area, but was originally from Dundee.

The incident, which involved a black BMW 328 coupe, happened early on Saturday.

Relatives said in a statement: "We are shocked and stunned by what has happened and cannot believe we will not see David, or Flea, again."

They added: "David was such a thoughtful person and touched the lives of everyone he met and will be missed by so many.

"David is survived by his parents, Kenny and Anne, his sister Rosslyn, long-term partner Ann and three nephews."

Sgt Neil Morrison said: "Our investigation into what happened on Saturday continues and we would ask that anyone who has information contacts Police Scotland."
