Serviceman dies in RAF Lossiemouth base motorbike crash
A 49-year-old serviceman has died after a motorbike crash at the RAF Lossiemouth base.
The one-vehicle accident, involving the male off-duty RAF employee, happened on Tuesday evening at the Moray site.
Police Scotland said an investigation would be carried out in liaison with the RAF and a report submitted to the procurator fiscal.
The RAF said the serviceman, who has yet to be named, was "extremely popular" and would be missed.
A spokesman said: "We are acutely aware that he leaves behind close family and friends, and the thoughts and prayers of our personnel go out to them at this most difficult time."
