Lamond Strachan in court after Queen's Baton Relay incident in Forres

A man has appeared in court charged with attempted theft after an incident involving the Queen's Baton during the relay in Forres.

Lamond Strachan, 44, from the Moray town, appeared at Elgin Sheriff Court on Friday following Thursday's incident.

He made no plea and was released on bail.

The baton relay is travelling around every local authority area in Scotland over 40 days.
