Custodial sentences for teenage Banchory Devenick car thieves

A trio of teenage car thieves who admitted stealing luxury vehicles from a businessman's Aberdeenshire home have been given custodial sentences.

Liam Smith, 18, George Cowie and Blair Thomson, both 17, took several sports cars from outside Sean Dreelan's property in Banchory Devenick.

Cowie and Thomson had broken into the house and taken the car keys.

Smith received an 18-month sentence at Aberdeen Sheriff Court. Cowie and Thomson were given nine months.

All the stolen vehicles were recovered after last July's incident.
