James John Turner loses Aberdeen hospital job over underwear photos

A member of Aberdeen Royal Infirmary nursing staff being investigated for posing for pictures allegedly wearing the underwear of a dead patient has lost his job.

James John Turner, a nursing auxiliary in an acute geriatric ward, was suspended during an inquiry.

An NHS Grampian spokesperson said: "NHS Grampian has concluded its internal investigation.

"Mr Turner's employment has been terminated with immediate effect."

The spokesperson added: "We are aware that Police Scotland are making their own inquiries."

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We are aware of the allegations and are at the early stage of our enquiries to establish if any criminality has occurred."
