Man in court after Shetland road death

A man has appeared in court after a pedestrian died when he was hit by a car on Sunday.

Shetland man George Michael Armour, 38, was struck by the car on the B9074 at Hamnavoe at 01:50.

John James Daniel Pottinger, 20, appeared in court on charges of causing death by dangerous driving, dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He made no plea and was released on bail.
