Joan Rennie, 69, confirmed as Crovie cottage fire victim

Human remains found at a cottage in Aberdeenshire which was destroyed by fire have been confirmed as those of the owner.

Police said Joan Rennie, 69, died in the blaze which happened at Crovie earlier this month.

The remains of a dog were also found.

Police Scotland said enquiries into the cause of the fire were continuing, and a report would be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
