Sturgeon: 'Spectacular' result for SNP

The SNP is set to secure the largest share of the vote after Scotland went to the polls in the European Parliament elections.

With only the Western Isles still to declare, the party was expected to win two seats, with Labour also winning two, while the Conservatives and Ukip took one each.

Ms Sturgeon told Good Morning Scotland the SNP had "won the election".

But she said she was "very disappointed" that Ukip had won a Scottish seat.
