Fears are growing for a woman after fire destroyed a house in a village on the Aberdeenshire coast.

The fire broke out at the detached property in Crovie at about 19:15 on Tuesday.

The occupier and her pet dog are unaccounted for.

Fire crews took more than two-and-a half hours to extinguish the blaze. The roof and first floor collapsed. An investigation is under way.

Four fire engines from Macduff, Banff and Fraserburgh attended at the height of the blaze.
