The demolition of a fire-hit former community centre in Aberdeen has begun.

About 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the disused Burnside Centre in Mastrick Drive on Sunday evening.

It was the second fire there this year.

An Aberdeen City Council spokeswoman confirmed: "The demolition of the former Burnside Centre is now under way."

The demolition had been delayed until air quality monitoring experts could be appointed.
