Demolition of fire-hit Burnside building in Aberdeen delayed

Fire at Burnside Centre Dozens of firefighters tackled the blaze

The planned demolition of a fire-hit former community centre in Aberdeen has been put on hold.

About 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the disused Burnside Centre in Mastrick Drive on Sunday evening.

Three youths are helping police with their inquiries.

It was the second fire there this year. The council hoped to begin demolition on Tuesday, but that has been delayed until air quality monitoring experts can be appointed.
