Three youths are helping police with their inquiries into a major fire in Aberdeen.

About 50 firefighters tackled the blaze at the disused Burnside Centre in Mastrick Drive from about 17:30 on Sunday.

Police Scotland said investigations into whether the fire was deliberate were ongoing.

People in the surrounding streets were told to shut their windows and stay indoors because of the amount of smoke.

Local SNP MSP Mark McDonald said it was the second blaze at the building in recent months.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said a fire on 23 February had destroyed 30% of the building.
