BP is to create 100 new jobs at the Sullom Voe oil terminal in Shetland.

The oil company is planning to invest about £600m refurbishing the site and building a new gas plant.

A new offshore-style rota system is to be introduced at the terminal in a bid to attract more highly skilled engineers to come and work there.

BP's regional president for the North Sea Trevor Garlick said the investment would secure the terminal for at least another 30 years.
