Boy airlifted to hospital after being knocked off bike

A 10-year-old boy has been airlifted to hospital after being knocked off his bike by a van in Aberdeenshire.

The accident happened at about 12:20 on a country road at Longside, near Peterhead.

Emergency services treated the boy at the scene before he was flown to hospital in Aberdeen.

He is believed to have suffered head injuries and was said to be in a serious condition.
