Man dies after 'vintage' car crashes on A90 in Aberdeenshire

A 63-year-old man has died after his vintage-style car crashed after leaving the A90 in Aberdeenshire on Saturday.

The man was driving a beige Beauford Convertible when the accident happened at about 19:00 on the southbound carriageway at the Muchalls bends.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the car had collided with street furniture and have appealed for witnesses. The road was closed for five hours.

Sgt Steve Milne, of Police Scotland, said: "We are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or saw this distinctive vehicle being driven on the road shortly before the collision to come forward.

"At the time of the collision driving conditions were good and it is vital that we piece together what has happened. Witness accounts are key to this and a full investigation into the circumstances is now under way".
