Tribute has been paid to a mother who was killed in a crash in Moray.

Police named the victim of Friday evening's A96 accident as 28-year-old Kerri MacDonald from the Elgin area.

Relatives said of the "gentle, kind-hearted person" in a statement: "Kerri was a wonderful mum to Matthew. A light has gone out from our world."

The accident, on the Elgin to Forres road near Alves, involved Ms MacDonald's silver Ford Ka, a grey Nissan Micra, and an HGV.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
