Fitness instructor Norman McConnachie cleared of ill-treating girls

A fitness instructor accused of ill-treating and sexually assaulting two girls in Aberdeenshire has been cleared of all charges.

Norman McConnachie, 42, of Newtonhill, had been on trial at Aberdeen Sheriff Court over charges relating to a property and an activity centre.

Two ill-treatment charges were found not proven by the jury, and two sexual assault charges were found not guilty.

Mr McConnachie's trial had begun on 17 February.

Charges against co-accused Rachel Boyd, 39, were earlier withdrawn.
