Report of sexual assault in Aberdeen proves false

Police who investigated an alleged sexual assault in Aberdeen have said no crime was committed.

An area off the city's Abbotswell Road was taped off after an incident was said to have taken place in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Following an extensive inquiry into a reported sexual assault in the Abbotswell Road area of Aberdeen on Sunday, no crime has been committed."
