Mackerel wrangle still not resolved after latest talks

Talks aimed at resolving the long-running dispute over mackerel quotas have failed to reach agreement.

The EU has been at loggerheads with Iceland and the Faroe Islands since they upped their quotas in 2010.

Ian Gatt, of the Scottish Pelagic Fishermen's Association, said agreement was very close in London. More talks are planned later this month.

Mackerel is Scotland's most valuable catch.
