A man has appeared in court charged with assault, abduction and rape after an incident in Aberdeen.

Daniel Welsh, 22, from Aberdeen, appeared at the city's sheriff court where he made no plea and was remanded in custody.

It followed an incident involving a 24-year-old woman in the Seaton area on Monday evening. It sparked a major police investigation.

Mr Welsh's next appearance date is still to be confirmed.
