Three hurt in two-car crash on A96 in Aberdeenshire

Two men and a boy have been seriously injured in a two-car crash in Aberdeenshire.

The incident on the A96 at Bainshole, near Huntly, happened at about 15:10 on Sunday.

The 68-year-old driver of a silver Mondeo, the 40-year-old driver of a blue Fiesta and his eight-year-old son were taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Police closed the Huntly to Glens of Foudland stretch of the A96 for seven hours for investigations.

Sgt Rob Warnock of the Road Policing Department said: "Our inquiries are at an early stage and we are keeping an open mind.

"I appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward irrespective of how insignificant they may think their information is."
