Woman dies after two-vehicle crash

An elderly woman has died after a crash between two vehicles in Aberdeenshire, according to police.

The accident happened on the A90, about a mile south of Fraserburgh, at about 15:00.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "The female driver of one of the vehicles sustained serious injuries and sadly has died."

The road was closed and local diversions were put in place while police investigated the collision.
