Man charged for handbag theft from woman, 90, in New Elgin

A man has been charged after a handbag was stolen from a 90-year-old woman in Moray.

The incident happened on Monday in Mossend Place in the New Elgin area.

Police Scotland said a 33-year-old man from the Elgin area has been charged in connection with the theft.

Police had said he was expected to appear at Elgin Sheriff Court on Wednesday, but the Crown Office later said he was freed pending further inquiries.
