Inverurie 'drink-drive death crash' man Edward Shaw found dead
A man charged with causing death by dangerous driving has been found dead.
Edward Shaw, 50, from Inverurie, appeared in court after Margaret Laing, 79, died in a crash on the B977 Dyce to Fintray road in October.
He was also accused of drink-driving. He had made no plea and was released on bail.
Mr Shaw was found dead in a wooded area in Inverurie.
A police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that we attended a report of a sudden death on Wednesday, 20 November.
"There were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and as is normal practice, a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
Mrs Laing's family had earlier paid tribute to a "wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt and friend" who was full-time carer for her husband.
