Aberchirder police sergeant Neil Shand faces child images trial

An Aberdeenshire police sergeant has gone on trial accused of child pornography offences.

Neil Shand, 51, is alleged to have been in possession of indecent images of children at his home over a two-year period.

Mr Shand, of Aberchirder, went on trial facing two allegations at Banff Sheriff Court.

He has lodged special defences of alibi and incrimination. The trial continues in December.
