Police are investigating an attempted theft from an ATM machine in Aberdeen.

A failed attempt was made on the machine at a TSB branch in Oldmeldrum Road at about 03:30.

A police spokesman said those responsible were thought to have been disturbed.

Police have appealed to anyone who was in the area and may have seen something to contact them. They are particularly keen to speak to a taxi driver who was on Oldmeldrum Road at the time.

Earlier this month, a 30-year-old man from Liverpool was charged in connection with a spate of raids on cash machines in Aberdeenshire, including incidents in Inverurie, Stonehaven and Ellon.
