Shetland Super Puma crash: Funeral of Gary McCrossan held in Inverness

The funeral of one of the four victims of the Shetland Super Puma tragedy has been be held in Inverness.

Gary McCrossan, 59, died when the helicopter crashed into the sea on Friday 23 August.

A celebration of his life took place at the funeral home of John Fraser and Son from 13:00, before the service moves to Kilvean Cemetery.

Relatives of the father-of-two requested that donations are made to the RNLI.

Earlier, they said in a statement: "A deep void has been left in our lives.

"Gary was a loving fiance - long-time partner to Fiona, devoted father to Niki and Freya, grandpa to Cohen, loving brother to Maureen, Frank and Kenny and best friend and confidant to many.

"He was a fun, loving guy who was full of life."

Mr McCrossan worked for Stork Technical Services.

An investigation into the Super Puma AS332 L2 crash is ongoing.

Sarah Darnley, 45, from Elgin, Duncan Munro, 46, from Bishop Auckland, and George Allison, 57, from Winchester, also lost their lives in the incident.

Ms Darnley's funeral is due to be held on Monday.
