St Andrews Volpi brothers fined for Orkney RSPB crime

Two brothers have been fined a total of £1,000 for killing and taking wild birds from an RSPB reserve in Orkney.

Riccardo and Daniel Volpi, from St Andrews, were found guilty of offences under the Wildlife and Countryside Act at Kirkwall Sheriff Court.

The court heard that members of the public called police after seeing the accused on the Birsay Moor RSPB reserve last November.

Snipe and grouse were shot and killed in the incident.
