Man badly hurt in paragliding accident near Glenshee

A man has been seriously injured in a paragliding accident in the Cairngorm mountains.

The 58-year-old suffered what police said were potentially life-threatening injuries at the Cairnwell, near Glenshee ski centre, at about 13:00.

An ambulance and a Navy helicopter from HMS Gannet at Prestwick were scrambled and the casualty was being airlifted to hospital.

A spokesman for Police Scotland said the man's relatives had been informed.
