Aberdeen 'pay and prescriptions' doctor allowed back to profession

An Aberdeen doctor who wrote prescriptions for herself, her family, and dishonestly kept thousands of pounds in extra pay is to be allowed to return to the profession.

Dr Victoria Waugh - who was a trainee GP at the Elmbank medical practice - was earlier banned for 12 months.

A Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service review hearing decided she can return to work, subject to conditions, for two years.

Her actions were discovered in 2009.

She will face another review hearing before the end of the conditional period to decide if she can return to work unrestricted.
