Former police officer Christopher Wratten jailed for child pornography images
A former police inspector has been jailed after being caught with child pornography for a second time.
Christopher Wratten, 59, of Cullen, Aberdeenshire, had moved to Scotland from Hastings after having to leave his job.
Wratten was jailed for a year at Peterhead Sheriff Court after admitting being in possession of child pornography.
Ten years ago he had been jailed for six months for similar offences.
Sheriff Gregor Murray described it as a "tragic" case involving an "intelligent" man who had lost all semblance of social standing in both England and Scotland.
He imposed a six-year extended sentence of which Wratten will spend 12 months in custody.
Defence lawyer Stuart Beveridge said his client was initially in denial when his crime came to light 10 years ago but now accepted that he had a problem.
