Aberdeen assault leaves man in hospital

A man has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries after an assault in Aberdeen.

Police said they were called to Victoria Road, in the Torry area, at about 15:00.

A man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, and Victoria Road was closed to traffic.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson told the BBC Scotland news website the injuries were possibly serious.
