The replacement crankshaft for the ferry which has been taken off the Orkney to Scrabster service is set to be lowered into place.

The Hamnavoe is currently being worked on in the Babcock shipyard in Rosyth.

The new crankshaft has been sent over from Germany following the breakdown of the ferry two weeks ago.

It is hoped that the Hamnavoe, which sails from Stromness, can be back in service across the Pentland Firth by 24 May.
