Man hurt in A90 Peterhead-Fraserburgh crash dies

A man badly injured in a head-on crash in Aberdeenshire has died.

The 58-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Vectra was involved in the two-car accident on the A90 Peterhead to Fraserburgh road, near the Waterside Inn, about 20:55 on Monday.

He was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary with a serious head injury. Grampian Police said the as yet unnamed man had since died.

Three people in the other car involved, a Ford Fiesta, escaped serious injury.

The road was closed for seven hours.
