Wife recalls husband's death crash in Aberdeenshire

A woman has told how she realised her husband was dead when she went to the scene of a car crash in Aberdeenshire.

William Webber, 36, died following an accident in a Porsche in Strichen in April 2011.

Douglas Calder, 38, denies causing his death by driving dangerously.

Emma Webber told the start of the trial at the High Court in Aberdeen she found paramedics treating her husband, but when they stopped, she realised he had not survived.

It is claimed Mr Calder drove the vehicle dangerously at excessive speed for the road layout and conditions and lost control of the car.

The car collided with a stone wall, overturned, and landed in a field.

The trial continues.
