Vos Sailor North Sea death: Crewman named as Joseph Laws

Vos Sailor The incident involving the Vos Sailor happened in the middle of December

A crew member who was killed on an oil industry supply vessel in the North Sea during storms has been named.

Grampian Police told BBC Scotland that it was Joseph Laws, 50, from Hull, who died aboard the Vos Sailor, which was hit by a wave about 120 miles off Aberdeen on 15 December.

Other crew members had to be airlifted to safety from the stricken boat.

A rescue winchman stayed aboard despite breaking a bone in his foot.
