Former Aberdeen City Council leader Callum McCaig and the SNP are being sued by an Aberdeen property developer.

Alan Massie has lodged defamation actions at the Court of Session against Mr McCaig and the party itself, following comments attributed to Mr McCaig on the Aberdeen SNP website.

Mr Massie is seeking an interim interdict from the court to ban the repetition of the comments.

The SNP said it would be inappropriate to comment at this stage.
