Man charged over Aaron Arthur death in Peterhead

A 35-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in Peterhead.

Police officers and an ambulance were called to an address in Longate area of the town at about 02:35 on Monday, after reports of a man being seriously injured.

The dead man has been named locally as Aaron Arthur.

The 35-year-old is expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on Tuesday.

A spokesman for Grampian Police said: "We can confirm that following inquiries into the death of a 31-year-old man at an address in the Longate area of Peterhead on Monday 17 December, a 35-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death and is expected to appear at Peterhead Sheriff Court on 18 December."
