A female motorist has been flown to hospital after being cut free from her vehicle following a "serious" crash in Aberdeenshire.

The one-vehicle accident happened on the B9032 at the Memsie crossroads shortly after 12:00, which left the road closed.

She had suspected head injuries.

Grampian Police said her injuries were believed to be life-threatening.

The road was expected to remain closed for several hours to allow a collision investigation.
