Northern Isles ferry strike dates announced

Strike dates for members of the RMT union working on the Orkney and Shetland ferry routes have been announced.

It follows plans by new operators Serco Northlink Ferries to cut jobs.

Members have been told to withdraw labour on the Orkney to Scrabster route on 14, 21 and 28 December.

Shetland to Aberdeen will also be 14, 21 and 28 December, and Aberdeen/Orkney/Shetland will be 16, 23 and 30 December.

The Orkney to Scrabster 24-hour strike timings are 00:01 hours to midnight on the three Fridays.

The Shetland to Aberdeen timings are 08:00 on the Fridays to 08:00 on the Saturdays, and the Aberdeen/Orkney/Shetland timings are 08:00 on the Sundays to 08:00 on the Mondays.
