Teenage drink-driver crashed into Aberdeen bedroom

A teenage drink-driver has admitted crashing a stolen car into an Aberdeen bedroom.

Liam Donaldson, 17, was 16 when the incident happened in Balnagask Road in May.

The car came to rest beside the bed of a couple aged 77 and 80.

At Aberdeen Sheriff Court, Sheriff Graeme Napier told Donaldson: "This is absolutely appalling." He deferred sentence until next month so that reports could be prepared.

Left shaking

Fiscal depute Felicity Merson said the couple were moved to temporary accommodation following the incident and it took three months for structural engineers to repair their home.

She said: "The woman saw paramedics at the scene and they advised her to go to hospital.

"She was complaining of a sore back and pain in her side.

"She said she and her husband were shaking from the incident."
