Michael Forbes' property Donald Trump branded the property a "slum"

An Aberdeenshire farmer who rose to prominence as a result of his battle against Donald Trump's golf resort project has received an award.

Michael Forbes Mr Forbes featured heavily in the You've Been Trumped documentary

Michael Forbes - who refused to sell his land to the American businessman - scooped the Top Scot prize at the Glenfiddich Spirt of Scotland ceremony.

Mr Trump once described Mr Forbes' property, which borders the tycoon's land on the Menie Estate, as a "slum".

Mr Forbes featured heavily in the You've Been Trumped documentary.

Design work for a second golf course close to the Trump International Links is now under way.
