Sunk fishing boat Onward owners told to improve safety
The Onward caught fire and later sank
The owners of a fishing boat which went on fire and sank off Orkney have been ordered to make safety improvements to their vessels.
The crew of the Banff-registered Onward had to be airlifted to safety after the dramatic incident in April.
A report from the Marine Accident Investigation Branch found the Onward's fire alarm system was not working and had not been tested in two years.
Mithcowie Fishing has been told to improve safety in future.
