Orkney industrial accident victim named as Christopher Hartley from Thurso

A 45-year-old man who died following an industrial accident at a pier in Orkney has been named as a Thurso man.
Christopher Hartley, an engineer, died after the incident, involving a digger, in Longhope on the island of Hoy at about 19:30 on Tuesday.
He died after sustaining crush injuries, despite the efforts of local ambulance personnel.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been notified and a report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal.
