First Aberdeen bus staff reject revised pay offer

Staff at Aberdeen bus operator First have voted to reject a revised offer in a long-running dispute over pay.

The offer followed two days of talks with the conciliation service Acas, which took place after an initial pay deal was turned down.

The dispute involves drivers and cleaners who are members of the Unite union.

First Aberdeen said it was disappointed by the move but hoped to continue discussions over the dispute.

General manager Duncan Cameron said: "I can assure our customers that we will do everything we reasonably can to bring this dispute to an end without disruption to services."

About 400 workers at First Aberdeen are involved in the pay negotiations.

The dispute went to Acas after union leaders indicated they were set to ballot on industrial action.
