Fraserburgh Farmfoods armed robbery probed

A man who carried out an armed robbery at a Fraserburgh shop is being hunted by police.

The man - using what was described as a "bladed weapon" - escaped with a three-figure sum from Farmfoods, in the town's High Street, on Monday evening.

No-one was injured in the incident.

Grampian Police said the suspect was described as white, of slim to average build, aged in his 30s, just under 6ft tall, and was wearing a blue hooded top with a white scarf around his head.

A force spokesperson said: "We are keen to trace anyone who may have been in the shop just before or just after the robbery and may have seen anyone matching the description or acting suspiciously.

"This has been quite a distressing event for the staff."
