Sex assault on woman in Aberdeen

A 22-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted in Aberdeen.

Grampian Police said the attack took place in the Powis area of the city at about 07:30.

Det Insp Richie Guild said inquiries were "at a very early stage" and appealed for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the Bedford Avenue area to contact police.

He said this type of incident was rare but reminded the public to be "mindful of their personal safety".
