One man has died in a house fire in Aberdeen's Gairn Terrace, to the south of the city centre.

Grampian Fire and Rescue Service, the Scottish Ambulance Service and Grampian Police were called to the property shortly before 16:00 on Friday.

Firefighters found the man dead inside the house.

Grampian Police said the road had been closed between Hardgate and Holburn Street, and remained closed overnight.

Officers said the cause of the fire was being treated as unexplained.
