The Queen has missed a church service in Crathie on Deeside because of a sore back.

The service would have been the last she attended during her regular summer stay at the Balmoral estate.

Her departure from Scotland and return to Buckingham Palace are expected to go ahead as scheduled on Monday.

A spokesman said the Queen had spent the morning resting but would be able to continue with her programme for the remainder of Sunday.

She was scheduled to meet guests at Balmoral and the spokesman said this would go ahead.
